SEOKWOON YOON is a future classic brand that reinterprets classic elements of traditional clothing and combines them with modern art. The brand captures inspiration from a wide-ranging mix of historical and modern-art references. The label evinces a standing boundary between art and ready-to-wear with a conceptual theme on his collections. The label’s signature is expressed with the form of oversized and transformed pieces, reconstructed and unconventional twisting construction, offering constant research for textile and structure through creative draping.
SEOKWOON YOON graduated in 2017 from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. He worked as a junior graphic designer and Menswear designer in NY. He launched his namesake label SEOKWOON YOON in 2019. He won the Best New Designer Award at Seoul Fashion Week in 2020. He presented collections at London Fashion Week in AW22 and AW23. He is selected as Vfiles Lap 002. In terms of awards, Yoon received the best emerging designer’s award in 2020, and also was selected as 10SOUL designer, being recognized for global competitiveness and competence, two years in a row in 2020 and 2021. In addition, Yoon achieved the President Award Winner on Korea Fashion Awards in 2023.
